Our family cat, a solid black with yellow eyes named Crow, AKA 'Blackers' (my brother named him when my brother was just eight), passed away today. At 14 years old he just couldn't hold out any longer.
He was the last of three we kept from the litter of my first cat Luna. She died in birth, the last kitten being too big for her to get out so she had surgery and simply never recovered from the anesthetic. We raised all of them from the moment they were born, only giving away two and keeping the remaining three. They were the most friendly, sociable, and agreeable cats I've ever met. They were family and now the last one of that generation has passed.
'Black' was never the closest cat to me, he was always the aloof one. He used to annoy our dog Bonnie by swatting her, he'd even sit on the stairs and she'd be too afraid to pass by him going up or down. He loved teasing her like that.
But now they're both gone.
And the house feels all the more empty...
I need a drink.

Some good news, I'll be traveling to BronyCon this summer with any luck and I could really use a companion to share a hotel room with. Anyone who's thinking of going I managed to get a reservation at the 'Lord Baltimore Hotel'.
Here's the information I posted in the BronyCon forums.
My first trip to BronyCon and I could use a roommate. I have a reservation for the 'Lord Baltimore Hotel' starting on the 31st of July and going to the 4th of August. Because of an added day before the group discount takes effect the first day will be a little more pricey. Total the hotel bill should come to about $325 for each guest. That's half $170 for the first night, half $140 for the following three nights,
Will be driving up from Radford, Virginia and would be willing to offer a ride if anyone is willing to go half on gas and parking as well.
Additional info about myself can be asked via email at Drakin929[at]gmail.com
